UV gel Experiments

Done on the same day our UV clear overlays were done, we experimented.
July/15/2012

Left: Blue and black glitter; Right: orange and purple marble.
I did both of these nails, still playing around with the UV coloured gels and adding glitter. I like the marbled effect I got on the one on the right.

Left and Right: Ayesha's; Middle: Mine
The far right and far left nails my cousin Ayesha did, she made up some beautiful turquoise UV gel using clear gel and turquoise eye shadow. The right one she mixed in some blue glitter, and the left nail she patted the blue glitter on top, both creating a different effect. I like the one she did on the right.
The middle nail with the rhinestones I did, there was some orange and turquoise left over so I did a gradient and stuck on some rhinestones before curing it. It reminds me of something you'd find in Bollywood.

Fruit Salad
I did both of these, but Ayesha coated/encased the right nail with clear gel. All is did was mix magenta and orange eye shadows with clear UV gel and stuck on some cute little fruit fimos for added fun.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any questions, comments or concerns leave them down below and I'll get back to you!

UV Gel Clear Overlay

My cousin Ayesha and I (yes we share a first name) decided to play with our UV gel kits.

Close up.
Due to learning how to blend nail tips, all of our nails got thinned out pretty severely. They were breaking pretty bad and bending, so Ayesha and I decided to test out our UV gels on ourselves, I did this simple clear gel overlay for her to keep her natural nails safe until the damage grows out. She also did a beautiful set for me. This is the first time I put gels on and actual person and they turned out nice.

Not-So Flashback Friday: UV Gels 2

I'm very excited with these gels in case you haven't noticed. So much so I postponed the other Flash Back Friday I originally had scheduled for today, just to show you some more of my practise fingers.
I hope you enjoy these!

So here's my 3rd practise finger. I attempted mixing my own gel colours, which is simple, and proved successful. This means I can get some use out of those old eye shadows I have lying around. I topped it off with some white rose outlines in paint and a glitter top coat.

If mermaids wore stiletto gel nails, these would probably come quite close, no? These are some deadly ones, but I love them, I sculpted a stiletto using clear UV gel, then used some blue eye shadows to put in the colour. I topped it off with a healthy dose of pearls and rhinestones.

I really hope you enjoyed these and if you have any questions, comments or concerns leave me a comment down below and I'll get back to you :)
Have a Happy Friday!
